Professional Background and Experience

My educational background includes a Bachelors of Arts degree from Smith College (1993), a Masters of Social Work from New York University (2002),  Post-Graduate study at NYU's Psychoanalytic Institute Adult Psychotherapy Program (2004) and a Certificate in Infant Observation from COR (Center for Object Relations) - Northwest Family Development Center (2007).   Currently, I am a Clinical Associate at Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (SPSI).

My experience includes:

  • Therapist for the FDNY in 2001 working with Firefighters, EMT and the families of lost FDNY employees on 9/11
  • New York University's Counseling Department
  • Private practice in New York City and Seattle working with a wide range of issues such as: grief and loss, addiction, postpartum depression, transitions to motherhood or other major life transitions, sexuality issues, chronic emotional and/or behavioral patterns, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, early emotional trauma and depression.
  • Listening Mothers Facilitator (click here for more information). Listening Mothers is for mothers' with babies newborn to six months of age. The group explores how to be attuned to a baby's emotional world and also to the emotional changes that occur with motherhood.
